Melbourne: Indian lady Shilpa Hegde is Liberal Party candidate from Wills in Melbourne, Australia. The voting for the  election is schedule for September 7 ,2013.Liberal Party is currently Opposition party in Australian Parliament.

Shilpa is a native of Perdoor, a small village about 20 km from Udupi in Karnataka ,India. She is an alumuni of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte.Shilpa was born in Mangalore.  She is an engineer by profession and works for an  Australia’s major  IT consulting company ,DWS. 

Shilpa (36) migrated to Melbourne in 2001,after her marriage to Dayanand Shetty.  Her father was a chartered accountant and mother busy with social service. Mr Shetty was an active member of the Liberal Party and  was involved in political activity. She accompanied her husband to political  meeting organised by Liberal Party. She then developed interest in politics with  her active participation  in various council, state and federal election campaigns and party fundraising events.

Her party election agenda includes  “Generation of one million new jobs within five years by  delivering lower taxes, more efficient government and more productive businesses”.

She will be in her hometown Perdoor in December this year. Indian's will be delighted to well come her  as an Australian MP.
